Environmental factors like sunlight or vibrating tracks can knock sensors out of alignment. A technician ensures the “sending” and “receiving” eyes share a perfect line of sight. Secure mounting prevents false reversals caused by wind or minor track movement.

Travel Limits and Precise Closure

The auto-reverse system depends on programmed “travel limits” that define the floor’s location. If limits are incorrect, the motor may treat the floor as an obstruction and reverse. This creates a frustrating cycle where the door refuses to stay closed.

If limits are too deep, the door strikes the floor with excessive force. Professionals fine-tune these endpoints to the millimeter using the opener’s programming interface. This ensures a tight seal without triggering safety reversals or warping the center rail.
